Our Academic Success Center (ASC) is here for you every step of the way. The ASC focused subjects include math, science, writing, computers, and foundations area that helps prepare you for placement testing or developmental classes. The College has both online and in-person tutoring. Highly qualified individuals (most of them are instructors at the College) can help you with topics like writing, math, information technology, & science. Just like students coming out of high school, adult learners have financial opportunities as well. To start, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) because it is a requirement for most grants and scholarships. Apply for Jefferson College scholarships by filling out our application. You can also look for other scholarships that may be available to you by going to a reputable site like myscholarshipcentral.org or using a reputable resource like Show Me the Money. Look to Missouri for some of their specialized adult opportunities such as the Fast Track Grant. Other ideas for financial help are to look into tax credits you may be eligible for since you are going to school like the Lifetime Learning Credit or check employer about benefits. Often businesses may offer tuition assistance or reimbursement.
If you aren’t sure what you want to do, but you know you want to come back to school, the College can help you with that, too. The College's Workforce Development team has career specialists that can help you determine a possible career field.
