Teacher Education Program Policies and Guidelines

Activities include career fairs as well as guest speakers and special workshops on topics of importance for future teachers.

MEGA and MoGEA Resources

  • Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments (MEGA), Including MEP and MoGEA
  • All graduates are required to take an exit exam to meet graduation eligibility. For Teacher Education students, the exit exam is the MoGEA. All Teacher Education students must meet minimum institutional scores in order to meet graduation eligibility for the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Minimum institutional score requirements for the MoGEA are:
    • MoGEA scores: Reading - 202; Writing - 193; Math - 200; and Science/Social Science - 204.
    • The MoGEA exit exam is waived for Teacher Education students seeking the Associate of Arts in Teaching if the student has submitted an ACT Composite score of 20 or higher.

Job and Volunteer Opportunities

Gain valuable teaching-related experience as a peer tutor at Jefferson College! Students who have a 3.0 GPA or a 2.8 GPA with an "A" in a specific course are eligible to become peer tutors. Learn more!
